Complete Review: This was a good album, but it still can't compete with II. The videos could have been better but they were still ok. The slow songs on this album were excellent just like they always are...but the fast songs made the album brought it down tremedously.

Complete Review: This album is tight! I love how they varied producers, which helped to change the sound of it, and made all songs sound different from each other! This album was very inspirational to me and my friends think "Dear God" is one of the best songs I've heard! It's very touching and it taught me to belive in God, and never take life for granted. "Never" helped me help others. My best friend had just broken up with her boyfriend of a year, and I wrote the words to "Never" down on a piece of paper and let her borrow my CD. I told her to listen to track #2 and pay close attention to the words, and it helped her so much!

Complete Review: Evolution shows the Boyz have matured in their music, vocal arrangements, and production as a whole. Babyface always helps an album, along with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, as they did on this one. Shawn has developed strong writing abilities, along with Nathan and Wanya. Michael shows potential as a great producer on Voices of Theory's album. These guys will be even BETTER on the '99 album.

Complete Review: I think the album is very good and much deeper than the other albums. For example, "Girl in the Life Magazine," I don't think is really talking about a girl in a picture. It's is just a clever metaphor. In short, the album is different from the other great stuff in that it is more mature and has a different flava from the rest. I gave this album an 8 because II was a 10. And I wanted to hear a Diane Warren song from them.

Complete Review: I think that this is a really cute album and Boyz II Men sound great!! I think that the Boyz get better and better with every album and they blend their voices so well. They are really talented and I hope they sing for a long time. The songs on this album show how much Boyz II Men have grown since the first album and it seems like they keep getting sweeter and sweeter. Evolution is one of my favorite albums and I play it 24/7. I think that "To the Limit," "Baby C'Mon," and "Come On" are really cheesy, stupid songs and I think that they could have done better, maybe with some more romantic ballads (what do you expect when the songs are produced by Sean "Puffy" Combs). I love all of the other songs on the album and I think that they represent real Boyz II Men music.

Complete Review: I thought the album was nice, but being a longtime Boyz II Men loyalist, I was both uplifted and let down. The biggest problem with this album was that it wasn't marketed or promoted properly and as a result, Boyz II Men took a nose dive when you consider all the hype surrounding their previous albums. One other thing that bothered me was that I see the Boyz starting to try to be too "trendy". It's like they lost their innocence. Remember the innocence of songs like "Little things," and "This is My Heart," well compare that to "Come On" that was produced by Puffy. Funny thing, that was one of my favorite tracks on the album but I just think that the album as a whole had too many songs of this nature and not enough "I'll Make Love to You," or "On Bended Knee" type songs...These are the songs that have kept Boyz II Men universally sound, and without those missing links, Boyz II Men has lost some of its flare. Hopefully the Boyz can pick up the pieces, like I see they've started with the Prince of Egypt Soundtrack, but when you lose that admiration, it's hard to get back, which is why I think I Will Get There" never made any real noise in the industry. My point in a nutshell is that I will always love each piece of music that the Boyz put out on the shelves, but to a person who isn't the loyalist that you and I are, Boyz II Men can easily be considered a fairly marginal group when you look at the competition today. I rate this album for any other artist a 10, but for Boyz II Men, a 7.

Complete Review: Boyz II Men's latest album, Evolution, contains the normal Boyz II Men smooth harmonies and the popish tunes, but what is bad about the album is that this formula is done excessively. The first half of the album featuring all the powerful ballads, this was typical Boyz II Men, but the second half of the album was something that the Boyz would rather forget. Songs such as "Baby C'Mon," "Come On" and "All Night Long" made the album seem hours long. Boyz II Men, who co-wrote most of the songs on the album will learn from this experience and the next album should be much better.

Complete Review: Boyz II Men show a range of venues on this album, going from soft ballads, to dance tunes, to inspiring chartbusters that make me keep wanting to be a singer myself..The acapella harmonies on "Can You Stand The Rain," the old New Edition song are great, as are "Girl in the Life Magazine," and "Never." Overall, this album brought Boyz II Men into their own permanently in my mind, because of the exquisite vocals, and deeper subjects..they are subjects of the day..and what is music but a picture of the society in which it is created..Go on with your bad selves Boyz because your album doesn't need to win any awards, its great all the same.. One more thing..peace out to Shawn Stockman..I'm OUTTIE!
