Boyz II Men The Guyz Behind The Music

The names Boyz II Men goes hand in hand with hit music. The Philly quartet's latest album, II, featuring the singles, "I'll Make Love to You" and "On Bended Knee," is proof positive of their chart-topping ability. But when the music stops, Shawn Stockman, Wanya Morris, Michael McCary, and Nate Morris are four very down to earth guyz. See for yourself!

Nate's Dream Comes True

Still in awe of his own success, Nate says he sometimes feels like he's living a dream come true. If there's one thing that assures him he isn't dreaming, it's Boyz II Men's fans. "Every night you go on stage, the fans reward you for what you do," he says Nate can relive and part of his dream come true whenever he wants to-he's captured countless Boyz II Men moments on film with his camcorder. And it's a dream he's living with his best buddies. "I don't have a best friend," he'll tell you, "I have three best friends, Shawn, Michael, and Wanya. They're all I can ask for in a friend."

Michael Loves the Spotlight

Basically a shy guy, Mike admits his shyness vanishes when he's on stage singing for thousands of fans. "But of you told me to perform in front of one, I couldn't do it," says Boyz II Men's bass man. You may have noticed that Mike usually carries a cane. He says he uses it because he's a bit clumsy. He actually started carrying one after messing up his knee in high school. It eventually became a fashion statement and now it's part of his everyday attire.

Shawn Says Thank You!

Shawn Stockman couldn't be prouder of Boyz II Men's accomplishments and he's well aware of the affect the group's sound has on people. "Our music makes you feel good," says Shawn. "We know life isn't all peaches and cream, but sometimes you just want to relax and forget about all that." As a way of thanking their fans, Boyz II Men included the song "Thank You" on their album. "We're saying thank you to all the people who we met along the way during our 2 1/2 year career-all the fans, the record company, the people who supported us and promoted our album, all of our families, our friends, and God," explains Shawn.

Wanya Keeps His Sunny Side Up!

"Music is always going to be my life," assures Wanya Morris, the youngest member of Boyz II Men. "I'm always going to want to be a part of music in any way, shape or form." An eternal optimist, Wanya always looks on the bright side and never lets negative vibes get in his way.
