When Boyz II Men Were Just Boys

You know the cool, talented, famous, and rich versions of Michael McCary, Wanya Morris, Nathan Morris, and Shawn Stockman. But as the guys reveal here, they didn't always live such fairy tale lifestyles.

Nathan
"When I was about nine or ten, my mom (Gale) and dad (Alphonso) were going through a divorce. Things weren't all that great. We didn't have everything we wanted to have. There were times when there was no electricity and no gas or water. We moved in with my grandmother for a while until my mom found something better."

Michael
"There were drugs and violence outside (our home in Philadelphia) - people on the corner selling drugs and people slinging dice. But my mom (Omarnetta) made sure we were taken care of. We didn't have much, but we were always alright. There was food, a roof over ou heads, and lots of love."

Shawn
"When I was in school, I was a nerd. I spent all my time reading comics, and listening to metal music. I hung around with the least popular kids. I definitley was not in the hip crowd. I was always quiet, always on my own. I kept to myself."

Wanya
"Drugs got the best of mother (Carla). It made our life hard. I grew up fast because there was nobody else to raise us. I was young, but you do what you have to do. Growing up in the projects made me grow older and more quicky than anybody."
