Seeing Boyz II Men riding high at the top of the music
charts year after year, it's hard to imagine that there was
a time when the guys were anything but successful. But
Shawn Stockman, Wanya Morris, Nathan Morris, and Michael
McCary know differently. And they don't forget for a
second where they came from.
Besides being able to buy any outfit they want at the mall,
the guys agree that the best part of the success is being
able to help their family and loved ones.
"I definelty don't forget where I got it all and that keeps
my head in perspective," says 23-year-old Shawn. "It's
great to have nice things-a nice house, a nice car. But
they don't rule me. The success we have was part of my
vision and the Lord blessed me to see it through. I will
never forget that."
"We are able now tp out our families in better positions in
life, to buy them houses, make sure they're comfortable,"
echoes 24-year-old Michael. "And we're also in the
position to help others, which feels good. I think our
success has affected us for the better."
"It feels awfully good to be able to provide for my family,
to provide for my mom and dad, in a way that I never could
have imagined," says 24-year-old Nathan.
"I think back, man, and it was not too long ago-four years
ago-that I was living in the projects," says 22-year-old
Wanya. "Now it's fun not to be worrying about money."
