You may not be able to tell, but whenever Wanya, Shawn, Michael, and Nathan go onstage, something out of the ordinary happens to them.
A Transformation
Even if the guys have performed a dance routine a hunderd times, it's not unusual for one of them to ask right before they take the stage, "How does that step go again?" And while they may fumble and forget while they're practicing it backstage, once they're in front of the crowd everything magically comes together. "I guess it becomes like second nature," explains Shawn. "You know, like 'entertainer persona' comes on. You forget everything else when you're actually doing it."
A Sense of Control
When Wanya see his peers in the audience he gets a major case of nervousness - so bad, in fact, that he starts to shake. But once he closes his eyes and focuses on the show, he's fine.
Like Wanya, Shawn also gets a case of the butterflies right before he's about to perform. How does he deal with it? He just reminds himself that he knows the songs and there's no reason to be nervous.
A Sense of Wind
The guys admit that they're often beat up and tired from the traveling and prforming the night before. But once the curtain opens and they hear the crowd, they get energized. Still, Nathan admits that sometimes "it takes two or three
or even five songs (to get going)."
