Wow! If you saw Boyz II Men at Florida Expo Hall last winter, you really didn't.
What you caught was a little brother version of the show.
The real one - the one fans at the University of South Florida's Sun Dome saw Wednesday - was the big boy.
Big effects. Big choreography. Big fun.
Of course, Wanya's passionate delivery, Shawn's cute gyrations, Nathan's cool, and Michael's booming voice always maes for a pleasant experience.
Wanya blew the crowd away several times, most notably during "On Bended Knee."
Pauses for effects kept us on edge.
And the squeals were deserved when the group rendered a Spanish version of "Water Runs Dry."
The Men threw it into overdrive, showing they're more than harmonizers. Their show was slick, loaded with pyrotechnics.
Not content to be know solely as balladeers, the group came jamming on faster cuts like "U Know," and making little girls swoon on slower favorites like "I'll Make Love to You."
To be sure, pelvic thrusts and spirited moves were in effect, as well as roses and moans.
Signature "Motownphilly" featured a backdrop of the group's hometown, Philadelphia. Candles rose on stage during "50 Candles," keeping the sensuous mood that Michael had so nicely put together for us during in "Uhh Ahh."
The dance steps were down. New Edition would have been proud.
