When the guyz were recently on tour in Louisiana, Carrie
taled to Wanya Morris from his hotel room about life on the
road. Listen in on their chat.
Carrie: The All Around the World Tour is your first
headliner. Do you feel more pressure this time than when
you were opening for Hammer in 1992?
Wanya: No. All we have to do is basically pray to God that
we go out there and do our best and hopefully our best will
be good enough for the people.
Carrie: I know that you and the rest of the guys - Nathan,
Shawn, and Michael - are religious. Do you ever have a
chance to go to church while you're on the road?
Wanya: No. If you get up to go to church, that is a
beautiful thing. But when we get offstage at 11:00 p.m.,
and when we have six or seven-day work weeks, it's very
tiring. God understands that we are tierd.
Carrie: The last time I talked to you guys, you told me
that you wer thinking about bringing a trainer on the road
with you. Is that happening?
Wanya: We brought a trainer out on the road with us for our
promotional tours at the beginning of the year. But when
we started our (concert) tours, he was like, "You know, you
guys are performing every day, and that is like an hour and
30-minute workout itself!"
Carrie: That's true. I guess you really don't need him
then. Do you think that having a trainer duing the
promotional tour put you in better shape for this concert
tour?
Wanya: Yeah, actually I am in a lot better shape. I feel
like I look a lot better than I did. But we still have
weights on the road with us.
Carrie: Does lifting weights help you relieve stress or
make you sleep better?
Wanya: Sleep is a lot better! But prayer and sometimes
listening to music or sitting somewhere by yourself and
relaxing is good too.
Carrie: It was nice talking to you again, Wanya. Say hi to
the rest of the guys for me. And get some rest, okay?
Wanya: Okay, I will. It was nice talking to you, too.
