They're back again and better than ever as you'll find out from listening to their new LP, II. This time, the multi-platinum group demonstrates a wide variety of vocal styles and showcase romance at its best.
"I'll Make Love to You": The group's first single was written by Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds and is certainly one of the best songs he's ever written. The compelling ballad, is similar in some respects to "End of the Road," a song he co-created for the group for the 'Boomerang' soundtrack.
"U Know": This song is about a love that is in trouble, but not yet to the point of desperation. The song projects a strong desire to work things out, but it also conveys confidence and faith, a more mature theme than the previous LP.
"Trying Times": Produced and arranged by member Wanya Morris along with the producers Tim and Bob, Wanya displays the vulnerability which fans are recognizing as his trademark.
"I Sit Away": This song, produced by Tony Rich, is bound to make you cry as it is the saddest tune on album. But then, when you're in love, you're bound to suffer sometimes.
"On Bended Knee": Already a favorite with female fans, this song, produced by legends Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, captures that moment when a man must show his strength by admitting a weakness, a mistake.
"Thank You": This song of gratitude expresses delight over all of the Boyz' fans, family, and other people that have been with them since the beginning.
"All Around the World": This is another tribute to the group's millions of fans across the continents. Too rarely do artists take the time, effort and thought to give praise to the people who make it possible for them to do what they do best and love most.
"Yesterday": The a capella remake of the John Lennon/Paul McCartney classic was a daring undertaking by Motown's quartet. Destined to be a big hit for Boyz II Men, "Yesterday" will break new ground for Nate, Shawn, Wanya, and Michael.
"50 Candles": Shawn Stockman shines on this tune as he sings, writes, and produces this romantic tune with Tim and Bob.
"Water Runs Dry": Featuring Babyface on acoustic guitar, surrowunded by strings, is the story of a relationship before the heartache. The song lets the lovers breathe new life into their love, and new love into their lives.
(In case anyone is wondering, they didn't review all of the tracks from II).
