A small French town is visited by two strangers a woman and her daughter who open a chocolatier in the town during Lent.

A Really good "Feel Good" movie.

Juliette Binoche and Judy Dench shine in their performances.

A small French town. a chocolatier opened by two travellers of the north wind, and a Count who must lead his townspeople away from temptation, make this film one of the best of 2000. Vianne (Binoche) and her daughter, travel through the French country side everytime the north wind blows, a story in the middle of the film explains why they migrate during north winds. They come upon a small French town (an actual French town)and rent out a shop to sell chocolates. There is one problem, they have opened during Lent, a Christian holiday of giving something up for five weeks until Easter. The Count of the town (Molina) hates them because of this, he wants his town to be peaceful, without two strangers messing it up. Molina actually is very good in this film especially near the end. Vianne has chocolate beans known to "entice the passion" of the eater. We see how this works in a hilarious scene.

10/10 For beautiful story and characters. Good performances by Binoche and Dench. 100%/100% Good camera work of the town. 1
