Based on the Best Selling Novel by John Irving.

A Boy has spent his childhood in an orphanage, sooner or later he has to see the world.

Michael Caine portrays Dr. Wilbur Larch a doctor at St. Cloud's orphanage and hospital. He also performs abortions. He teaches Homer (Maguire) a orphan about being a doctor, even though they have different views on abortion. This movie has a Neutral stance on the issue of abortion. Homer later meets Candy(Theron) who visits St. Cloud's for an abortion, she and her husband have a cider house where they make Apple cider, Homer decides to visit there home and work in their cider house. He tells them he hasn't seen an ocean, he gets to see one. But he learns that sometimes life has its ups and downs.

Yet again we get a good interpretation of one of John Irving's books. There are lots of great acting as well as good scenery. there is a good deal of both Homer and Dr. Larch in this film. I just love the line of "Sweet Princes of Maine". 10/10 good acting by Caine and Maguire as well as Theron, very excellent story about finding your place in the world. 100%/100% just good filming, clip of "King Kong" in orphange scene shows how we need to preserve our motion pictures. 1
