A beautifully computer generated dinosaur movie with real backgrounds from real places. A Family film for all types of families.
Story ok but effects take the cake, a must see.
The Story starts out with narration from a mysterious female voice (Non Credited) which says something like, "hear about our struggle"? and then there's about 15 or so minutes of no dialogue with what happens to a dinosaur egg as it travels to the lemur island. The scene shows dinosaurs walking around realistic locations, wait a minute, those are actual places. but the dinosaurs are walking realistically on the land. The egg of Aladar (D.B Sweeney) a dinosaur, makes friends with lemurs (wait are lemurs around during the dinosaurs?) after some judgement Aladar stays with the lemurs until a dreadful night when meteors come down. (shown as realistic as possible) Aladar and the lemurs escape and come upon a dinosaur caravan going to their nesting ground, but the trip is barren and there's not very much water, Aladar meets a triceratops (Della Reese) who is at the end of the line, and meets up with a female dinosaur Neera (Julianna Margulies) but the story lags on during this trek but to keep your eyes busy you see these beautiful locations and some dark disturbing ones as well.
But over all this movie should be scene for the special effects or if you have kids who love Disney films or are dinosaur lovers. I wish the story would be more on the extinction of the dinosaurs then what happens in this movie, at least make the story realistic as the effects. 10/10 for special effects and character animation, real locations, if only the story was better, I'd give the story a 5/10 for it being typical Disney story. 100%/100% for really good cutting between reels you don't see any thing that would happen when they do that.
