A thriller with tense moments and an amazing payoff.

We find out what the bad guys are after in the first scene, it happens to be a small red diamond. But, one of their helpers double-crosses them. It's ten years later and they are still after the diamond. Michael Douglas portrays Dr. Nathan Conrad, a famous psychiatrist, he gets word from another doctor that an upset patient needs his help. Nathan finds Elizabeth (Brittany Murphy) a strange patient who copies other illnesses. Later on Nathan finds out that someone has kidnapped his daughter and wants the six-digit number that is in Elizabeth's troubled mind. Elizabeth catches on to Nathan and sings out "I'll never tell, I'll never tell .... any of you." in one of the most frightening scenes. Nathan will try hard to find out what this number is and get his daughter back, as well as solve the mystery of Elizabeth's condition.

In two wide shots, because this film was filmed in New York City before the September 11th attacks, you can see the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, this could be their last cameo in a motion picture.

10/10 for surprising moments and intense scenes. 100%/100% Good use of Cross-cutting of flashbacks near the end of the film. As well as Mise-en-Scene. 1
