Good-bye Lover
Starring: Patricia Arquette, Dermot Mulrony and Ellen DeGeneres
. Directed by: Roffe
Produced by: New Regency
Rated: R
This movie has so many plot twists that it could be considered hard to follow but I could handle this movie about money, murder and a whole lot of sex. It stars Arquette as a extremely sexually active woman named Sandra who loves to get it on with guys in tough situations. Little does her husband know that she is having an affair with his brother. (That's only the beginning) which then leads to murder, then they find out about the money involved . then having to deal with two detectives Sgt. Pampano (DeGeneres) and Rollins (He talks like Barney Fife). There's one thing strange about Sandra, She loves "The Sound of Music" to a T. I Felt bad they didn't put in the "Do Re Mi" song in there. and also strange is Pampano who doesn't really like Rollins or even men so it could be that she could be a lesbian, but I don't think that's what Director Roffe had in mind. Once DeGeneres comes on the screen she steals another movie (She did the same for "EDtv") even a joke where she asks Rollins if he is gay seems to go well since DeGeneres is. (Boy, can she eat a corn dog! and make it look sexy) Her character seems to be an ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) Pampano likes to look around more than to stay in one spot. All of the actors and actresses in this film do excellent jobs. There even is a sight gag about sex (its better than the scene in "There's Something about Mary") where it sounds like a woman is getting pleasure then we later find out she is getting the pleasure from a Stair Master. ****/***** This movie is filled with sex so there's a big reason why its rated R. Also a whole lot of the F word is said. Plot twists were enough to keep me from dosing off or getting bored with this film.
8/10 for excellent acting and interesting plot. 99% for a bit of a jiggle that happens after the Black oval appears on the upper right hand corner to signify a switch of the reels or something else.
