Preppy Boy goes to little town sees pretty girl deals with girl's boyfriend, destroys diner, has to build back diner, falls in love with girl during the reconstruction of diner.
If this sounds formulaic well its the basic theme to most romantic relationship movies, but this one has more of a charm than other romantic movies. It's in its lead star Leelee Sobieski (A Soldier's daughter never cries, Eyes Wide Shut) who trimuphs in her portrayal of Samantha, the daughter of the town's sherriff. During a row with Her boyfriend Jasper, (Played by ex-Minnesota High Schooler, Josh Hartnett) Kelley (Chris Klein) a preppie (Person who goes to a prep school) Goes and tells Jasper something that makes Jasper think is a threat and he goes and chases Kelley's car in his own car, which leads to a crash at the local gas station near the diner,where samantha works, and this is all because of her. Jasper doesn't like that Kelley is interested in his girlfriend.
After a big row in a barn Jasper finds out that Kelley loves Samantha and later finds out she like Kelley, Jasper like any mature young man he gives up his boyfriend title to friend, and has Kelley be with Samantha.
But something happens to Samantha that makes Kelley and Jasper's Bond to Samantha even stronger.
The Characters are more detailed in "Here on Earth" you really feel the pain of being a girl that has two guys that like her, as well as looking at it from the young men's point of view. Another big thing is how beautiful Leelee's face is through out this movie, it would make any young man want to be her boyfriend (Me especially) and her excellent acting in this movie, she knows alot about heartbreak (more through this piece) through her acting. 10/10 for excellent intriguing story, excellently scripted characters, beautiful Leelee. Good music. 100%/100% some great camera shots during car chase as well as facial shots of Leelee and the other actors.
