RandMC's Movie Reviews:The Matrix

Starring: Keanu Reeves, Lawrence Fishburne, Ms. Carrie-Moss and Hugo Weaving.

Produced by: Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow.

Written and Directed by: The Wachowski Brothers.

Rated: R

This movie ,created from the creators of "Bound", is a technological and psychological thriller about the world we live in. First of all the effects are amazing but what also makes it better than "LOST IN SPACE", which also used amazing special effects, is the plot and dialogue.

The movie starts out with Trinity (Carrie-Moss) a hacker-chick, is downloading some information from a computer when she finds out it has been tapped the police come over. One cop comes in and has her put her hands up when she turns around she jumps into the air (the footage freezes and rotates around clockwise) then she does a kick attack and the cop falls to the ground not knowing what hit him. Then the agent is running after her followed by two other cops. she runs up to a wide (And I do mean WIDE) chasm in space between the building roofs and jumps......and makes it across (also using a similar technique as before) the agent does the same thing (both cops are like "That's impossible"). This story is about computer hackers from the future to free humanity from being slaves. (ever felt like that while going to work?) the matrix is the world that has blinded Neo (Reeves) who must deal with the weirdness that is going around him by being sent into the future to save the world. With some training from Morpheus (Fishbourne) he is ready to battle the agent known as Smith (Hugo Weaving). Allot of this movies plot is needed to be not told in detail as Morpheus says "You can never tell anyone what the matrix is.... you have to see it for yourself". Basically this movie uses a good plot and dialogue, as well as amazing special effects(UPDATE: Won all visual effects editing and sound categories in the 1999 Academy Awards) Followed by 2 sequels in 2003/2004?(eager to see and review) and maybe an Anime series based on the events before this film. Is still considered my favorite special effects movie. 10/10 100%.

The Matrix Reloaded

Starring: Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Ann Moss, Lawrence Fishburne and Hugo Weaving.

Produced By: Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow.

Written and Directed by: The Wachowski Brothers.

Rated: R

Because of the success of the first film, there is a sequel, this time it's a two part sequel, both sequels happened to be released in the same year 2003. both sequels are the same story just broken in two.

also to add to the mix is a video game "Enter the Matrix"

although heavily flawed with bugs and repetitive gameplay,

showed 1 hour of extra footage to this movie, for the die hard matrix fans rent the game, it's not worth what ever it costs now, the benefit to the game is the 1 hour of extra footage. now on to the review. The war between the humans and machines is getting close and zion is the target of the machines. Neo(Reeves) finds out that Agent Smith (weaving)has acheived virus status, (the ability to replicate himself in programs he infects.)

In a duel with Smith, Neo finds out that more than one smith is hard to fight.

in this sequence parts of the fight consist of the full scene being all digital, neo, smiths, the background, objects, and even the camera become digital. some people can notice the switch. Jon Gaeta, Visual Effects Director, and his crew have done the impossible, create a scene of gazillion smiths and one neo fighting (using motion capture technology, need about maybe 10 or so stunt men for smiths and the computer replicates the others) doing slow motion and matrix rotating camera effect all using the power of supercomputers. also Neo has the ability to fly in the matrix, parts of the flight are a computer generated Neo.

Neo learns from the oracle that to stop the war he has to get to the source, he and his colleagues journey to the source, will he choose the right path. The movie leaves with a big question, where is neo, and who is inside bane. that's for the concluding movie.

10/10 exceptionally good first part of the big sequel, yet again amazing story, and great acting and fight scenes. 100% although some people can notice the switch the computer technology used in this first part is astounding.

and now the conclusion:

The Matrix Revolutions

Starring: Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Ann Moss, Laurence Fishburne, and Hugo Weaving

Produced By: Warner Brothers and Village Roadshow.

Written and Directed By: The Wachowski Brothers.

Due to the fact that this is the concluding part to the sequel and the final part of the trilogy,

people who have seen both previous films should read the review after seeing the movie(i give some stuff away), everyone else,

I am going to give away some things about the cliffhanger from Reloaded, so be warned.

In the concluding part of the Matrix Trilogy, we find out that Neo is in an alternate world called "the train station" run by the Train master (for you people who played "Enter The Matrix" he is the bum that spoke to Niobe/Ghost. in a crucial part of the footage) its a place where computer programs can go to get out of the matrix but with the help of the mergovinian (french dude in Reloaded).

Trinity and Morpheus along with seraph go and get access to a train after battling some guards who can walk on the ceiling (a bit cool to see) and making a suprising deal with the Mergovinian to get to neo, we find out that the machines are still digging toward zion, the human's are ready and when the time comes they fight the sentinal army.

Neo learns his path, and is ready to fight smith after finding out that smith can leave the matrix, (he is inside bane for you people who wanted to know.)

Neo enters the matrix and gets ready to fight with smith. What is the true path of the one? Will neo succeed in battling smith, will zion be saved, will the captive humans of the matrix be saved? hey all I can tell you is that the ending is the best way to finish off this excellent trilogy, you will be amazed at the ending and feel good at the end. yet again John Gaeta and crew use their computer technology to show not only the intricate Neo vs. Smith battle (parts of it) they also show the power of multiple (looks like millions) sentinel models flowing in a big black floating blob, big machine ships, and the suprise use of motion based face model of a mysterious machine, (the face is made up of moving sentinels).

10/10 excellent movie great story continuing right where reloaded left off. a fantastic conclusion to the trilogy. 100% yet again astounding and truly amazing visual effects.

For PC Gamers who like MMORPG's (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) and love the Matrix,

coming 2004, The Wachowski's EON Productions and Warner Brothers, create the MMORPG "The Matrix Online"

consisting of a large matrix city, your configurable character can explore and visit the matrix and go on endless quests created with the help of The Wachowski brothers.

as with all MMORPG's the world is persistent(meaning a fee either monthly or yearly to pay for the servers.), the game doesn't end when you log off, it continues for the other players playing you can come back the next day and meet new players and visit newly opened areas, the added bonus since this is a matrix game, you can collect matrix effects, and trade them like trading cards with other players. You can duke it out and do some kung fu moves against another player in probably designated areas (never know could change).
