This movie about an ancient Egyptian priest (Vosloo) who gets mummified and gets brought back to life in 1926 AD by treasure seekers and a clumsy librarian. This movie while being a horror flick is also filled with comedy so you won't stay scared too long.

It stars Brendan Frasier (George of the Jungle, Blast from the Past) as O'Connell an American who helps guard Hanunaptra from the enemy of Arabs. He finds out something is in the sands of Hanunaptra and wants to find out what it is. he ends up meeting up with a clumsy librarian (Weisz) and her boyfriend (Hannah from "Sliding Doors") who want to look over in Hanunaptra to find a treasure of some sort. It ends up being the book of the dead, which the librarian reads one night, this awakens the mummy from his eternal sleep. He is in need of human flesh and organs in order to regenerate this calls for the gore in this film. He can control the sands in one scene where he can make a sand wall literally out of sand. the band of O'Connell, librarian and the boyfriend must find a way to stop the mummy from fulfilling his plan.

Using amazing special effects this movie scores high on my list of favorite movies.

10/10 for amazing special effects and a great story bringing back the occult into mainstream horror flims.

100%/100% there is by far no technical problems just some to make it look like 1926 film but that is no big problem. even focus changes to the backgrounds give off the effect that you are there.
