A high school in 1971 is racially integrated including the football team and staff. Denzel Washington scores again in this movie based on a true story.

A captivating film of overcoming your fears.

The Titans are a football team in Virginia, one of the first to be a mixed race team, African Americans and Caucasian Americans. Through a trip to football camp in the Virginia wilderness the team meets the other teammates and see how alike everyone is. This changes when they get back to school where it is a contraversy.

Denzel Washington portrays Coach Boone, the new coach of the Titans. The former head coach, now offensive coach, Coach Yoast (Patton) at first doesn't like seeing an african american get his job and have to work under him. After awhile they become great friends. At their first game Boone finds out that the high school football association will fire him if he doesn't win. Boone gets a brick thrown into his house. Showing off the climate of the 70's of african-americans integrating into high schools with white americans. Gradually the team has to learn to work together and show people that african-americans can play football with white americans.

A very powerful film coming from Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney.
