This movie about a pinkish-red haired teenage girl and her boyfriend is a alternative way of showing off amazing technical work and story plot and charaterization. Starts out when Lola (Potente) a punkish pinkish-red haired young German teenage girl gets a phone call from her boyfriend (Bleibtreu) that he lost a bag of his with 100,000 Marks (German Currency) he needs to have or he will die. The only problem he needs it in 20 minutes. he tells lola of a Homeless man who stole it. She thinks of who to help her with this problem, In a sequence using still images flashing before our eyes and the "Matrix" effect of still rotation (Rotating a camera by using still images) She gets the conclusion that her dad will help her. So she runs out of her appartment and over to her dad's work (Which just happens to be a bank) along the way she meets people, bicyclist, lady with a shopping cart and others at different times and we get still images of what their life is like after they meet her. Example: a woman says "F***ing B****" and the still images follow show her winning the lottery. Another when Lola says to some woman at the bank "F*** Off!" the woman later on becomes a dominitrix in two still images that follow. Some of the still images are hillarious while some are shocking. This movie once you think its over it starts over again but comes out with a different outcome (Similar to "Sliding Doors").
This is a creative approach to technical, story, plot and characterization work. Each time it repeats, something different happens and the outcome changes by the actions. Character development happens through out this movie. Technically this movie shows off that even the germans have mastered the still rotation (a bit crudely compared to "The Matrix")effect shown off in Gap Ad "Swing" and WB's "The Matrix". also blending animation of lola running down her Apartment stairs and a mysterious German man with glasses who appears before the still rotation sequence. Cute German Actress Potente shows of her running skills as the main heroine of this interesting story. The soundtrack is also very well incorparated into the movie with The Music style of Electronica (Music created using computers and synthesizers and Keyboards. 10/10 An Excellent movie to watch be ready to read the subtitles. excellent use of outcome and consequences. 100% for absolutely everything was top notch, still rotation a bit crude Compared to "The Matrix" because of budget but excellent nontheless.
