The thought provoking horror film.
The religious horror film of the New Millenium is Here
The movie starts out in Brazil where a priest has died and Father Andrew (Byrne) is investigating a crying statue. Frankie Paige (Arquette from "Goodbye Lover") is a hairdresseer in Pittsburg who gets a rosary from her mom from her trip to Brazil. Soon Frankie is getting stigmata (cuts and scratches that christ had when crucified.) Father Andrew is assigned to investigate. Is Frankie possessed? What does the spirit have to tell through her? could it be harmful for the religion of Christianity? Only time will tell...
10/10 for good characters and excellent story bringing more religious information than other movies like "the exorcist".
100%/100% Good camera work, style and effects. and for the really cool opening sequence.
