The excellently written Paranoia Sci-Fi Thriller that will amaze you.
The Thirteenth Floor a hip sci-fi thriller delving into the paranoia is an amazing movie that will captivate the audiences mind to like Sci-Fi again.
This movie is more on the lines of a "Twilight Zone" episode using cleverly written dialogue and action. and lightly giving away the secrets of the essence of this movies story. The story is about a old man(Mueller-Stahl) that owns a business worth $6 billion to do computer research (more on the lines of simulated reality) and after being "jacked in" to the system he finds out there is something he needs to tell his partner(Bierko) so he writes it down in a letter and leaves it with a character from the simulation of the 1930's. When he returns to 1999(not sure on the year)and calls his partners phone number from a bar to leave a message about the letter in the system. Then a strange man interupts him and asks him to leave the bar and kills him. Later Douglas Hall (Bierko) finds out from a detective (Haysbert) about hall's boss' murder. So Hall has to find out who killed him and why as well as dealing with the weirdness of the system and his reality. This movie delves into alternate realities as well as sci-fi genre of multiple personalities and the paranoia involved. Similar to "Matrix" but not as flashy in the effects. the effects are good in this film. The story can get predictable for the smart viewers but that doesn't ruin this excellent story and characters in this excellent movie.
10/10 For excellent story and characters. 99%/100% some black lines appear during cuts in the film.
