The only thing good about this movies is the heists. Otherwise it is a total bore.

I put this one step higher than "Entrapment" for the heists are more creative in "Thomas Crown"

The movie is more a romantic movie than a thriller and sometimes putting the two words together can confuse the viewer into getting into this film for one of the words "Thriller". (The best Romantic Thrillers have the best of both genres) This is the best part of the film for there are tough and clever things our main character does that is so amazing it would be suprising The other word "Romantic" is the disappointment there just doesn't seem to be anything going in that department in this movie there's the love scenes but there isn't any character development about it and the scenes are long and boring even where there is character development. Even for me who got pushed into seeing this, I was hoping for more in the romantic area. I think anything in the romantic area of movies is going downhill. For one "Julia Roberts" movies ,this is my opinion, but she is playing the same character over and over she is Jerry Seinfeld (playing yourself or characters that are like yourself) also I think she is unattractive, especially facially. even "Pretty Woman" I was bored with it. Only "Shakespeare in Love" is my pick for best romantic film so far.

On to the review:

Thomas Crown (Pierce Brosnan) is a businessman with everything he wants but he hasn't had it all, what he wants is the Monet painting at a New York art museum so through a coincidence someone else is wanting to steal something from the same museum. So somehow through the commotion of one he gets the painting soon detectives are on to his heist after finding the trap. soon a detective (Rene Russo) who has an appetite for Soda-pop and a green thick beverage (Never really know what it is, I think it is a veggie extract drink with lots of green veggies) that looks disgusting but she gulps it down like its alcoholic or veggie oil or a super fitness weight drink. She is also a bit hyperactive in her personality. She immediately wants to investigate undercover (really not) she soon tells Crown, she is investigating him and he seems to think she is telling the truth but knows how to make her feel sexy. Soon they are lovers and then the plot goes down the drain with the love scenes and beach scenes then the heists come back in (especially the last one) which involves things that should be not mentioned but to let you know there is only two heists in this movie. Then the movie ends and I'm like "what the..?". The only thing besides the heists is that Sting sings one of the songs at the end credits.

More of a romantic film than a heist film.

5/10 for the heists and the detail and coolness of them. Good acting as well for Brosnan, Leary and Russo only problem, a slow volatile plot that bores you until the end.

99%/100% one scene there are bright lights in the background and kind of show of the museum as a movie set than an actual museum (its a real museum). otherwise good camera work and clarity. 1
