After petitioning her way to these trials, Shannon has showed that she can handle the pressure and the skills.
After sitting down on her first vault, she nailed her second one. On the beam her experience also paid off, when a a wobble after an acro series would have forced a lesser gymnast to fall off, Shannon stayed on the beam, like a cat on a wire. I definitely saw more than just shades of the "old Shannon" we all know and love. No matter her final standing, I support and applaud Shannon's effort, determination, grace and skill.
Her scores on each of the four apparatus were as follows: Vault - 8.893, Bars -9.712,Beam - 9.287, Floor - 9.162
Shannon vows to insert a more difficult tumbling pass into her floor routine ASAP and to clean up some of her skills. Shannon is an athlete of her word.
