Among the most awesome vehicles in the Empire's ground combat forces, AT-AT's are unmatched by anything in the Alliance's arsenal. At twenty meters long and over fifteen meters tall, these four-legged monsters tower over the galaxy's battlefields and resemble ancient beasts of war. AT-AT's are virtually impervious to all but heavy artillery weapons. The walker's movable "head" section contains the command cockpit, with room for the commander, pilot, and gunner. It also houses all the walker's weapons. The AT-AT's main weapons are two heavy laser cannons mounted on the "chin". Two medium blasters are mounted on each side of the head. The head can rotate as much as ninety degrees right or left and thirty degrees up or down for a large field of fire. AT-AT walkers have an immense armored body section that carries five speeder bikes and up to forty troops. To unload troops, AT-AT walkers kneel to three meters above the ground and troops slide down exit ramps. |

Light scouting and perimeter vehicles used by the Empire, the two-legged AT-ST are small agile walkers.Their primary uses include scouting, perimeter defense, and support for Imperial troops and AT-AT walkers. AT-STs rely on agility rather than heavy armor for defense. They have a top speed of ninety kilometers per hour. They are devastating in combat, especially against infantry troops and light repulsorcraft. AT-STs are still intimidating at 8.6 meters tall. AT-STs have a crew of only two persons: a pilot and a gunner. The primary weapons are chin-mounted twin blaster cannons with a maximum range of two kilometers.Twin light blasters are mounted on the left side while a concussion grenade launcher is located on the right side. Access is through a single hatch at the top of the command cabin which is reached by a series of hand holds. |

Speeder bikes are small repulsorlift vehicles that make excellent ground reconnaissance craft. They can reach speeds up to five hundred kilometers per hour and are more manuverable than both landspeeders and airspeeders, allowing them to travel through terrain that would stop those vehicles. Most speeder bikes have a low flight ceiling of about 25 meters above ground level. The Empire's scout troopers chose the Aratech 74-Z for both speed and reliability. It can run for thousands of kilometers without and significant maintenance, allowing scouts to operate unsupported for weeks at a time. These speeder bikes have armor plating and a sigle blaster cannon. |

The Century Tank is a cheap mass-produced ground combat vehicle. While the proper name is the "century tank" Imperial soldiers took to calling it the TIE Tank or TIE Crawler because of the familiar command pod taken from the TIE fighter. It is the perfect light assault vehicle. It requires only one crewman who handles both piloting and gunnery. The TIE tank has a top speed of only ninety kilometers per hour, but drive components are common and cheap. |

The Chariot Light Assault Vehicle (LAV) is a command speeder used extensively by Imperial Army command personnel. It is approximately 12 meters long and has a top speed of 100 kilometers per hour. The Chariot flies at a maximum altitude of eight meters. Each Chariot has an armored canopy and layered armor plates to absorb low-power blasts. The assault vehicle has only a single short-range laser cannon for defense. The vehicle normally only carries a crew of three, however, an entire command staff can be crammed aboard if necessary. Most stormtroopers will not have much experience with the Chariot. |

All stormtroopers should also be skilled gunners. This is a standard turbolaser tower, used on ground bases, large ships, and space stations. Most turbolasers on smaller ships are mounted onto the ship and pivot on a base. They are controlled by a gunner immediatley behind the gun or can be controlled remotely. By the time you complete your training you should know how to operate any kind of heavy weaponry. |
