[Welcome to Inspiration's Hand!]

Hello, my name is Shannon Muir and INSPIRATION'S HAND is my domain. Personally, I'm working towards my goal of being a professional film and television writer. Here's where Inspiration's Hand has led me so far professionally.

Inspiration's Hand is a term I came up with once when trying to describe what drives all of us who are meant to be writers. Sometimes it seems as if (at least to me) we are driven by something greater than ourselves, a "muse" to use an almost over-used term. But creative desire alone is not enough. Without inspiration -- new ideas -- to guide us, it seems easy to become lost. So inspiration extends it's hand and leads us on to unexplored possibilities.

And I -know- this kind of thing doesn't end with writers. Creativity is more than just written words on the page... it appears in visual art, cooking, dance, drafting, interior design. The list is endless. I speak of it in terms of writing because that is me and what I know.

I had a different vision in mind when I started Inspiration's Hand. What I wanted was a major set of links to all kinds of sites, on all sorts of inspirational things. In the last year, it's become much more personal... about the things I myself find inspiring. Please take a look around, maybe in my own interests you'll discover something that interests and inspires you.

A million thanks to L (a.k.a. my sister) for suggesting I use this name for my Web page, and for not stealing it for herself... and also to my parents, without whose support I would never have made it this far. The location of this site on Geocities' Hollywood/Lot includes the number of the house where I first found my inspiration and nurtured it for 12 years.
Last but not least, a big thank you to Christy Marx and Marc Handler, for fueling the fires of my personal inspiration and bringing them aflame... I wouldn't be doing what I'm doing without you.
