welcome to movie review wednesday. every week we will be looking at movies that we have seen the past week and giving our impression. Last week we had an interesting review of the blair witch project. Today i would like to review Deep Blue Sea.
This movie is about sharks that are given "big brains" for lack of a better explanation. They get smart and open doors, run from guns, and even swim backwards which is impossible-but hey its hollywood. The high point of the movie is when samuel jackson is giving a pep talk and a shark jumps up and grabs him. LLcoolJ gives an uplifting performance as the religious chef on staff.
although the sharks were fun to watch, this movie lacks the warmth of jaws and the originality of the first jurassic park but if you like lots of bodies cut in half, go for it.
