By the time Godzilla vs SpaceGodzilla came along, Miki was a pretty major character. As a result, the wardrobe increased to the point it seemed she was changing outfits every other scene. This doesn't, however, explain what the costume designers were thinking when they came up with this jacket she ran around in for the last reel of the film.

I guess it's some sort of field jacket to protect her from the blazes and flying rubble that seems to follow Godzilla wherever he goes. You would think all that tin foil would absorb the surrounding heat, but I've never claimed to understand Godzilla physics.

The jacket seems well suited for active wear, such as this scene where Miki gets in a shoving match with a police officer.

It's water-proof too.

When it comes to the wardrobe worn by actors in movies, there are some actors who can get away with certain articles of clothes and some who can't. Clint Eastwood, for instance, is the only actor who has ever successfully pulled off wearing a poncho. Nobody has yet to pull off wearing a clamped-down hood, and when you see these pictures you'll know why.

Sorry folks, you're starring in SpaceGodzilla, you're not getting out of this with your dignity intact.
