HAVE YOU EVER?

Have you ever gone to the beach
to be alone?
On a quiet day
When there's not a soul around?

Have you just sat there
basking in the rays of the warming sun?
Thankful that there on the beach
you are the only one?
As the cool wind whips through your hair
You feel not a single care

Have you lain on the sand
to look at the sky
As the clouds come in
and more clouds roll by?

Have you watched the seagulls
float above with ease
Then watch them dive
to catch and eat as much fish as they please?

Have you ever listened to the cacophony of sound?
The seagulls crying, the whispering wind, the waves thundering loud
Did it make you dance and dance and dance all around
Happy to be away from the maddening crowd?

Have you ever felt your heart burst with joy
and did your voice burst in song?
Did it make you feel that life was all right
and nothing could go wrong?

A peaceful place the beach
It is
A place where my thoughts I collect
A place so serene
Where with nature I connect
