WISE OLD MAN
You are now the "wise, old man"
to your son and daughter
Although sometimes you can be wrong
it doesn't really matter
Because for them you are always there
And this lets them know how much you care
When they were children
so very small
Back then, they believed
that you knew it all
Then when they reached their teenaged years
Anything you said went in and out their ears
But when their teen years they outgrew
Once again, they listened to you
And through it all
you stood firm and tall
When they need help
they know whom to call
their dear, old dad
The "wise, old man"
They didn't turn out so bad
You raised them the best you can
Now all your fears have been allayed
You can be proud of what they are today
