MY YESTERDAYS

My yesterdays as a child
were simple and carefree
Not a worry in the world
No major responsibilities
Full of big dreams
And fantasies

My yesterdays in my teens
were a little harder to bear
My parents set rigid rules
Which at the time I felt were unfair
There was puppy love and hearteaches
Wishes that never came true
So many things I never had a chance to do

When the high school days were over
it was on to college ed.
But it was hard to concentrate
so I partied a lot instead

My yesterdays of the single life
came to an end
When I met my true love
And very best friend
Now everything we share
Our life, love, happiness and sorrows
will one day be the yesterdays of our tomorrow
