Christmas for us began early this year when my husband and I made a trip to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park in the middle of November.  We heard that there was possibly four inches of snow at Newfound Gap.  We packed the car with an old full sized VHS camera and our yet to be used lighted nativity set we fought for the day after Christmas a year ago.  Our hope is to generate a Christmas card with the images we pulled off of the video tape.  Here are some possible shots we have.  This picture is of my husband and I poseing and freezing with our nativity set.  This picture was taken on the uphill side of the tunnel on the Tennessee side of Newfound Gap.

Here is a close up of our nativity set.  This scene comes from somewhere off of 441 between the Alum Bluff Trail Head and the Chimney Tops Trail Head.

This is another close up of our nativity scene taken above the same tunnel as the first picture.

My daring brave husband traversed the snow and ice to get this image of a creek.  I wanted to climb down the hill also, but he advised me agaist it.  After watching the video tape, I regretted not doing it.
