The small rural town of Little Creek, New Mexico, seems like Main St. USA until the visit of a mysterious UFO. Among the chosen to make contact with the craft are two small children, Wayne (Jan-Michael Vincent) and Jennifer (Cybil Sheppard), and a lunatic prospector who has spent his life in search of a fortune in gold. The town refuses to believe the UFO tale; the only evidence of contact is a strange, red glowing message left in a crystal formation that cannot be decoded. Life seems to return to normal until 25 years later, when the satellites of the SSR Institute, a publicly funded private science institute headed by Dr. Kramer (Raymond Burr), discover a mysterious black hole - in Little Creek, New Mexico. The children, now adults, are reunited by the strange events that follow and destiny creates an action-filled love affair. The forces of good and evil collide in this sci-fi thriller as the coded message left in the crystal formation is unraveled and the alien UFO returns.
