In This Lifetime... From across the way, their eyes met... Hers, a molten
chocolate, almost black... His, a soulful soft brown... Hers, searching,
asking him questions that made him reach deep into his soul to seek the
answers.... His, careful, not wanting to reveal things best left in the
past... In her eyes, he saw her life before - all the happiness, all the
joy... In his eyes she saw his - the questions, the suffering... In her
eyes, he saw her pain - the slaughter, the blood, he could hear the
screams and feel the heat of the flames as they consumed her
village... In his eyes, she saw his pain - the crowded boat, the last
touch from a loving moher, she could hear the hoarse pleas for help and
feel the sting of the ocean... In her eyes, he saw the hand that reached
out and helped her from the ground and carried her to safety...In his
eyes, she saw the hand that stretched through the waves and plucked him
from the greedy sea... In her eyes, he saw her hopes and dreams of the
future - love, laughter, children playing at her feet, and strong arms
surrounding her, holding her safe... In his eyes, she saw what he was
afraid to ask for - a friend, a companion, a lifetime of love, and a
strong woman to stand at his side, to be there for him and only
him... She slowly rose to her feet and made her way across the cave to
his side... At her approach, he watched her steadily, hope and fear twin
blossoms grew in his heart as he stood to face her... As they stood face
to face, gazing at each other, both realized that magic and love were
their's if they had the courage to take it... He reached out to her... In
this lifetime...
Tully's Dream
This land leans hard into
the wind,
I gaze across the open sea.
I wonder what my life
could have been,
where do my people dream,
how far away is the home that my blood
sings to know.
The wind calls back my mysteries;
There is no one here to show me.
Galen was my savior
keeping me from the storm.
But even he could not tell me
what I long to know.
I feel a tingling in my mind,
sometimes it seems the answers
are right in front of me,
but in the end it's just my longing
my desire,
and the vast and endless sea.
