Rated R, 95 minutes
Breakdown starts off with a husband and wife driving across the country. After a run in with some locals, they have some car troubles. Amy Taylor, the wife played by Kathleen Quinlan, gets a ride to a phone from a trucker. Later when Jeff Taylor, Kurt Russell, looks for his wife and cannot find her he becomes a worried. Even though this is not a very complex movie there is a lot of suspense. Russell and J.T. Walsh, the trucker, both do well. The thriller aspect of the film is not clouded by too many unbelivable action sequences. This is a good movie that makes you sweat it out until the end.
