The year is 2047 and the Event Horizon, a deep space exploration ship, has returned. Seven years previously the EH went forth and was not heard from again, until now. Captian Miller, Fishburne, is sent out to rendezvous with the EH and determine what transpired. Upon arriving all hell breaks loose. This is more of a horror flick than sci-fi, which is nice since it does not just rehash past space sci-fi movies. Another nice thing is that the movie properly acknowledges that faster than light travel is not possible. The movie is visually stunning, the scenery was great. Fishburne does well as the rigid Captian Miller, as does Neill as Dr. Wier the designer of EH. The best preformance comes from Richard T. Brooks as Cooper the wise cracking jack-of-all-trades. There are some very twisted and gruesome scenes, definitely not for the squeamish. Some additional background info and more action would have helped, but overall this is a well done movie.
