This is a very annoying movie, some parts are absolutely hilarious while others suck. Jim Carrey plays a lawyer, Fletcher Reede, who has a penchant for lying. After his son makes a birthday wish Fletcher finds himself incapable of lying. Of course this takes place on the day of the big trial, in which lying is required to defend Samantha Cole, Jennifer Tilly. There never seems to be a shortage of reasons for Carrey to make strange faces and noises, which is good because he can't act without his bag of brainless tricks. Carrey does provide some truely comedic moments, like when he gets his ass kicked in the bathroom and some of the court scenes, but the novelty of his inability to lie wears off quickly. He shows us nothing new in this movie. Maura Tierney does well as Fletcher's ex-wife, Jennifer Tilly's preformance is good too. The entire airport scene was asinine and agonizing. The out takes did help to put a positive spin on the end. This movie does have more cleavage than you can shake a stick at, but even that cannot carry it through the dismal low points.
