MIB is a good movie that could have been better. Tommy Lee Jones, agent K, recruits Will Smith, agent J, to join the MIB's, a secret agency dedicated to keeping aliens on earth under control. Along the way Linda Fiorentino, Dr. Laurel Weaver, gets thrown into the mix. Tommy Lee Jones is exceptional as one of the straightest straight men ever. Will Smith does well as the wise-ass new guy. The MIB's have some cool gadgets and interesting methods of funding. The aliens are well done and very funny. The best scene has K interrogating a small dog, very comical. The ending bit is quite clever. The main problem with the movie is a lack of plot. There's not much to sink your teeth into. Sure the earth is in trouble and there's not much time, according to K this is a daily occurrence, but you don't really care. MIB is also rather predictable, not much thought is required. Does not live up to the massive amounts of hype. Despite its short comings this is an entertaining flick. If you're looking for a funny and nonthinking movie then MIB is the one for you.
