Odd Couple II: 9 BBERS (Yuck, what's that smell?)

RATED PG-13
96 MINUTES

Oscar & Felix Felix Ungar (Jack Lemmon) and Oscar Madison (Walter Matthau) haven't seen each other in 17 years. The wedding of Felix's daughter Hannah (Lisa Waltz) and Oscar's son Brucey (Jonathan Silverman) is the reason this incompatible pair are reunited. They meet in an airport and the problems start all over again. They lose their luggage and rental car and in the process lose themselves. Oscar and Felix get lost in California without a clue as to where they are or where they're going. The two get arrested a bunch of times and are abducted by the angry husbands of two biker-babes. If only they had a clue they could get to the wedding in time.

Odd Couple II is not a good movie. Wow Matthau and Lemmon fighting and bickering while attempting to get to their kids wedding, I think I've seen this one before. This film is essentially a half-assed remake of Grumpier Old Men but without the comedy. Sure there are a few moments of humor but not near enough to keep you watching for 90 minutes. Both Matthau and Lemmon sleep walked through this one, neither showed much interest or effort. Granted they're both getting up there in age but that's still no excuse considering such recent greats like the Grumpy movies. This flick creeped along, it was way too slowly paced. Odd Couple II is a bad enough movie on it's own but it's even worse when you compare it to past Lemmon and Matthau pairings.
