There is no secret as to what you'll find in a Bond movie; gorgeous women, car chases through a market, nifty gadgets, snappy one-liners, and over-the-top action sequences. Throw in a couple of bad guys and you've got a Bond movie. The reason they keep using this blueprint is that it works, TND is no exception. In this the 18th Bond movie, media tycoon Elliot Carver (Jonathan Pryce) endeavors to start a war between China and Britian, in hopes of getting the exclusive broadcast rights to China. Bond (Pierce Brosnan) is not going to stand for that and sets out to stop the war by exposing Carver. It just so happens that Carver's wife Paris (Teri Hatcher) was a former lover of Bond's. After pumping Paris for information 007 continues his mission. Along the way he runs into Wai Lin (Michelle Yeoh) a Chinese secret agent looking for the same info as James. The two become unwitting partners after their capture by Carver's henchmen. As said before this not a ground breakingly origional movie but it is very entertaining. Two of the better scenes are a car chase which 007 drives from the back seat with a remote control and a helicopter motorcycle chase. Brosnan does well as every ones favorite spook. Yeoh does a great job as a female spy who can kick as much ass as Bond, maybe more. The only real problem is that Carver is not a very strong villian, he's more goofy than evil. There are few suprises left for James Bond movies, if you liked the past offerings there is no reason you will not like Tomorrow Never Dies.
