This is a remake of the 1981 film American Werewolf in London. While not as good as the origional the '97 version does provide some entertainment, maybe a little. Andy McDermott (Tom Everett Scott) and his two buddies, Brad (Vince Vieluf) and Chris (Phil Buckman), are taking a daredevil tour of Europe. Upon arrival in Paris Andy plans to wow his friends by bungie-jumping from the Eiffel Tower. When they get there they find Serafine (Judy Delpy) about to jump off the top. Andy saves her. Later the boys track down Serafine and she and Andy go out, at the end of the date she warns him to not get involved. Andy won't take no for an answer and goes back to her house where he runs into Claude (Pierce Cosso), who invites the guys to a party. When they get to the party Brad is killed by a werewolf and Andy is bitten by one and then becomes one. The movie continues to follow Andy and his struggle to deal with what he's become and to deal with his dead friend talking to him, asking for help. AAWIP has some funny moments but is not remotely scary, which renders half of the movie ineffective. The special effects on the werewolves were poorly done and came off completely phony. AAWIP is mildly enjoyable but is certainly not a film you'll regret missing.
