Birdie's Fan Fiction Contest

Yup, that's right. I've got a Fan Fic Contest. Every so often I'll be changing the topic from which I'll ask all stories be written in that are to be submitted. I will ask that you not send any stories that are excessively long, say thirty or more pages or fifteen web pages. I will ask that there not be excessive language or graphic wording (mostly related to sex but can be expanded to beatings if the passage is too graphic for the general public). Submitting any stories containing either of these instances is grounds for disqualification.

The Topic:

The storyline must be centered around the Manhattan newsies. This does not mean that there cannot be camios of charactors from other parts of the city. I'd just like it centered on our boys from Manhattan. This does not mean that you cannot submit stories about the newsies from the East Side, the West Side, Uptown, or Harlem. According to a map of the city, these areas are part of Manhattan. The boys from the movie don't have to be the stars. All I ask is that the story be about the newsies of Manhattan, not Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island (Richmond Island then), or the Bronx.

The Awards Catagories:

• Best Male
• Best Female
• Best Plot
• Most Probable Storyline
• Best Show (this means how the story is presented)
• Best Movie Charactor
• Best Villian
• Overall Best Story
• Best Parody/Funniest Story (probably the one that makes me laugh most. I don't mean it as an insult, just that your story is kinda funny)
• Best Background Story (explains the background of a particular newsie)

I reserve the right to make up any catagories other than these if I see fit. Of course, with some topics, some of these catagories may not fit, but it's what I came up with. There will be at least two awards, first and second place, for each catagory, more depending on how many entries there are.

The OFFICIAL Rules:

• Original Work (no explanation needed here)
• Keep the graphic language and wording to a minimal. Remember, there are minors who love the movie, too.
• Keep to the topic specified.
• By sending me the story, you give me the right to either link to it on my page or put it up on my page if it is not already up on the web.
• Please proof-read your work before you submit your story. This includes spelling checks and grammer checks. If you send me your story as an attachment to an e-mail, I will fix any spelling or grammatical errors in the text, not the dialogue. If you do not wish this, plese specify that you do not wish it.

If you disagree with any of these rules, please do not submit your story. If you send me your story, you have agreed to my rules.
