Olsen Twins Go Separate Ways

As ABC's Two of a Kind stars Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen twins enter the last stages of prepubescence, it's getting a little more important to them to establish separate identities. To break it down in a way the kids can understand, Mary-Kate is Sporty Twin and Ashley is Posh Twin.

"We don't try to dress differently," Mary-Kate (who talks the most), said during the final day of ABC's Pasadena press tour, where the two were dressed almost identically in silky off-white outfits, sporting the Rachel haircut from two years ago. "We kind of just end up dressing differently. And we do stuff in our free time separately, basically."

Mary-Kate further summed up their differences. "I like to horseback ride and Ashley does ballet in her free time. I like sports, and she'll go to the beach or the mall and hang out with her friends. I'm a lefty, she's a righty," she said in perhaps the longest sentence between the during the interview.

If that doesn't clear things up for you, this certainly won't. When asked what their favorite TV shows are, the two chimed in with a resounding sameness (Party of Five, Friends, and Dawson's Creek). Mary-Kate's favorite recent movie? Out of Sight with George Clooney and Jennifer Lopez.

As adult as some of those viewing choices may sound, both Olsens, 12, proved they could still behave like little girls at ABC's wrap-up party. The giggling pair chased through the crowd of adults, playing with ABC's other new stars, the kids from The Hughleys and Brother's Keeper.

Oh, thank heaven for little fraternal twin girls.
