We Need A Vacation
Words & Music: Glen Bennet

Wake up in the morning, must make my bed.
Brush all my teeth, comb the hair on my head.
Eat all my breakfast while mom makes a fuss.
Then rush out the door barely catching the bus.
Filling my head with these figures and facts.
When school is over, I take the bus back,
To chores that are waiting just to be done.
I thought being a kid would be fun.

Chorus:
We need a vacation from our daily vocation.
Oh, oh, oh.
It's not easy just being a kid.
We're tired just thinking of all that we did.
We need time away from all the work and the hum drum,
Oh, oh, oh.
Don't call us, we'll call you.
We need some time off.
I love playing baseball and soccer you bet.
But this is hard work, you should see how I sweat.
Hide and seek is not easy. It's serious work.
Climbing up trees getting covered with dirt.
We keep up this schedule just day after day.
We make our suggestion, they don't hear what we say.
I'm burning my candle out at both ends.
I'm taking time off with my friends.

Chorus

Can you picture it now, as we lie on the beach.
Tall frosty fruit punches just out of reach.
Soaking our troubles away in the pool.
Don't anyone dare mention school.

We need a vacation, from our kid like frustration.
Oh, oh, oh.
Don't call us, we'll call you.
We need some time off, we need some time off.
We're taking time off.

Wild Wet Wacky Wonderful World
Words & Music: Glen Bennet

Water water everywhere. I don't want to drink.
Oh what a day for water play.
You'll have to swim or sink.
You look so cute in your bathing suit.
The waves are calling you.
So let's begin, I'll race you in.
It's the only thing to do.

Chorus:
It's a wild wet wacky wonderful world.
It's a wet one, why not give it a whirl!.
When the waves are calling, don't be silly darling.
Come on in, the water really is fine.
And have a wild wet wacky wonderful time.
Water water everywhere. The waves they call my name.
It's great to be in Waikiki.
I'm really glad we came.
I'll get a tan on a catamaran.
I really like this boating.
Hey look at me.
I can't believe I spent the whole day floating.

Chorus

Water water everywhere. I just want to explore.
I'll scuba dive there's things all over the ocean floor.
Then you and me can go jet ski.
I'll race you to the bend.
With water sports the times too short.
I don't want the day to end.

Chorus (2 times)

Wild wet wacky wonderful world.
Wild wet wacky wonderful world.

Sand Sand Glorious Sand
Words & Music: Glen Bennet

You can't go skiing if you haven't got snow.
You will get nowhere real fast.
And golf as a sport is useless of course,
If there just wasn't grass.
And dirt can be lovely and rocks can be fun.
But you don't understand.
The ocean would be such a terrible place if there just wasn't sand.

Chorus:
Sand, sand, glorious sand.
You can squish it in your toes.
You can sift it through your hands.
The grass may be greener, and the snow my be grand,
But we're just crazy about sand.
Look at the people having fun on the beach.
Shovels in their hands and pails within reach.
Building a castle is never a hassle.
If you have tons of oh, oh, oh, oh...

Chorus

Cover me up from my neck to my toes.
But please don't cover my eyes or my nose.
I'll stay here for days just soaking up rays.
As long as you can cover me up with oh, oh, oh, oh...

Chorus

Sand in my shoes and sand in my socks.
When the sand is hot watch me hop scotch.
And I can sure dance with sand in my pants.
All I really want is to oh, oh, oh, oh...

Chorus

But we're all just crazy about sand.
We're all just crazy about sand.

I'd Rather Be Surfing
Words & Music: Glen Bennet

When I see the sun is shining,
I can tell you this is going to be my day.
I grab all that I need, out the door.
Hey, I'm on my way.
You can go and swim, I don't care.
You can act like a fish if you dare.
Cause I've got a different dream.
I've got a different wish.

Chorus:
I'd rather be surfing, just my board and me.
Hanging ten in the waves is where I want to be.
There's nothing like the feel of an ocean breeze,
And a ten foot wave that will rattle your knees.
I live for the thrill of a perfect run.
I'd rather be surfing. Look out, here I come.
I'll just float awhile as I'm waiting for the roller to come.
I let the little ones pass.
You know I'm waiting for that special one that will carry me away.
Don't you see. Just the waves, my board and me.
It's about as close to heaven as a surfer can be.

Chorus

When I see the sun shining, I can tell this will be my day.
I grab all that I need.
Out the door, hey, I'm on my way.

I rather be surfing. Look out, here I come.
