ACTUALLY managed to get this guy, thanks to my brother! I got
the Japanese version of Waspinator, which is, I presume, the same as
the American version, except it came with a REALLY cool box,
a character card, an instruction sheet and a catalogue.
Beast mode
A pretty realistic-looking wasp, mainly dark green and yellow with
blue bug eyes. His robot arms and head are visible
from underneath. His wings are made of transparent plastic and are
connected to his body via ball joints, which makes them pretty flexible
. The body is supported by the four thin legs, which makes the wasp a
little hard to balance some times. For some reason, it looks better
than Buzzsaw....
Robot mode
Transformation is fairly challenging, however I won't rate it as hard.
Same colour as his beast mode, only with added light green and silver.
Waspinator being a first wave deluxe has a mutant head and robot head
. I'll take the head in the show as the mutant head. His robot head is
silver in coloured, with black added at his mouth section.
His mutant head bears some resemblance to the one in the show, and hey,
he seems to be the only BW toy to have transparent eyes!(Other than
Buzzsaw, that is.) His chest plate is silver, not green. His bug head
forms the side of his chest, like in the show. His bug fore legs are
on his arms, and being fairly long, hinder his arm movements. His gun
is his stinger which shoot missiles stored in his wings. His legs have
a fair amount of movement, however he does not have ankle
articulation(Not that many of the deluxes do). Well I just have one
thing to say 'bout this guy.....GET HIM!!! If you can find him that is.
