FELICITY

The engrossing and stylish drama about a group of college students leaks its earnesty and class into its soundtrack. With 15 tracks featuring big names such as Aretha Franklin, Sarah McLachlan and Neil Finn, this album is every fan's dream. At times morose and somber, the music shadows the ambience and mood of this fine drama series which uses cool but unheard of tunes aplenty. Quiet, soothing and nostalgic, Felicity ost is a great buy even for non-fans. The theme, sang by one of the cast members herself, Amy Jo Johnson, is unbelievably addictive. Amy is also featured on a solo track written by herself entitled "Puddle Of Grace", where she sounds Jewel-cross-Natalie Merchant accompanied by guitar. A truly worthy soundtrack of the quality show.

NOTTING HILL

My favourite track of the Notting Hill soundtrack is She by Elvis Costello. This oldy is the opening and closing song used in the movie that accompanies the glamorous scenes of Julia Roberts' celebrity life. Other familiar tunes in the OST include Ain't No Sunshines and How Can You Mend A Broken Heart. The 90s tracks belong to country goddess Shania Twain and Boyzone with their smash hit No Matter What. A climber at the Billboard charts, popular artistes 98 degrees, Lighthouse Family and Ronan Keating also churn their love songs in this 13-track album. Filled with soothing romantic ballads, the soundtrack is as sweet as the hit movie. Check out the 11th track Everything About You by Steve Poltz, the guy who brought you the hit single You Were Meant For Me with Jewel. His Springteen-Bryan Adams voice sounds good on his self-written song although I've heard better work on his solo album One Left Shoe. If you enjoyed My Best Friend's Wedding's OST and the sounds in Notting Hill, get this album now.

RUNAWAY BRIDE

The Runaway Bride soundtrack charged into the top 5 at the Billboard 200 chart, capturing listeners with its 15-track compilation of love songs. From pop to country, this album features some of the biggest names in the music industry including Grammy winners Eric Clapton, Shawn Colvin and the Dixie Chicks. The retro-styled tunes from Daryl Hall & John Oates, Billy Joel and U2 give this romantic-comedy-soundtrack a nostalgic 80s feel. Fans of lush ballads and country love songs should find this easy on the ears. Look out for the enchanting track from the sassy Coco Lee.

TEMPTING HEART

Moving as the movie, the Tempting Heart soundtrack contains multiple dialogue tracks of the beautiful lead couple. The familiar theme, Europa, done in electric guitar and used for the trailer is written by Santana. With a total of 28 tracks, this soundtrack will rekindle the bittersweet feelings from the movie as almost all the musical elements recorded on the disc. Sylvia Chang, director and script writer of the film, sings the theme song with as much sincerety and emotion as the way she has written the highly simple and honest screenplay. If you have been captivated by the movie, the soundtrack will serve as a natural extension of that magic.

JAZZ ON CINEMA

This album contains some of the best movie themes ever done jazz-style. From Breakfast At Tiffany's Moon River (sung by Robert De Niro & Liza Minnelli) to Casablanca's As Time Goes By, this double cd compilation will more than satisfy fans of jazz and films. The collection of movie classic theme songs also includes familiar tunes from 007 and Mission : Impossible. Over 30 tracks of sensual jazz numbers are easy on the ears and great for the soul. If you are still not convinced, the following list of themes surely will - Can't Take My Eyes of You, Over The Rainbow, My Favorite Thing, When A Man Loves A Woman, Smoke Gets In Your Eyes... be enchanted.

THE BEACH

If you enjoyed the movie, chances are you will more than appreciate the soundtrack as well. This amazing album houses the best names in underground music to bring together an ensemble of trance-techno flavoured sounds perfect for the film. Including talents from Left to Moby, Blur to Sugar Ray, The Beach is an awesome 14 tracked album that is indescibably... cool. The ethnic remixes of Faithless's Woozy and the remix Beach by Orbital & Angelo Badalamenti set the energised spirit mood all through the 74-minute record. All Saints grooves and hits bull's eye with the beautifully harmonised Pure Shores, perfect as the opening single listed right after Leftfield's Snakeblood. If you like Beck, underground music or the movie, check this out at a good record store near you. Money back guarantee.
