Earth-A
Alternate Earth where an independent city-state of superbeings, dubbed Basetown, was founded in the mid-20th Century around where Texas is on most Earths. World also has a large occurance of people with superhuman abilities.
Basetown
Independent city-state founded by superbeings in 1951 CE/AD, around the area where Texas is located on most Earths. The city-state gained its name from the fortified defensive bases that are found throughout the city. The city has a high population of superbeings, most of which are good, but some of which are evil or unclassifiable. There is also a normal human population in the city. The city is defended by force fields and banks of laser weapons ringing the outer shield. Most interior buildings have protective force fields of their own. The normal citizens are protected by the Power Armor Corps, and the superhero team known as the Quintet.
Quintet, The
Superhero team of Basetown on Earth-A. Composed of Eternon (team leader), Starlight, Mechus, Macho, and Solarr. Also on occasion assisted by other superheroes such as Cybernetix and Absorber.
Eternon
Native of Earth-A. Formerly Dr. James Jennings, a scientist specializing in exotic energy research. After sending a probe into space to analyze a strange energy phenomenon, a 'fragment' of the energy somehow used the transmission signal of the probe to "hitch a ride" to Earth, where it split into five further energy 'fragments.' One of these fragments hit Dr. Jennings, who was transformed into a being of great cosmic power- Eternon. With the ability to fly, change himself to energy, control energy, and fire blasts of cosmic power, he is one of the mightiest beings on Earth-A. He soon formed the Quinitet with Starlight, Mechus, Macho, and Solarr, and they became the protectors of Basetown. He also developed the robot battlesuits of the Power Armor Corps, and helped refine the force fields and laser weaponry used in Basetown.
Starlight
Native of Earth-A. Formerly Rachel Leonards. A naturalist, she was camping in the desert when a meteor landed nearby her, and irradiated her in strange energies. She soon discovered that she now could fly and fire blasts of the strange energy. When Eternon invited her to join the Quintet, she readily accepted.
Mechus
Native of Earth-A. Formerly Major Thomas Schwartz, an astronaut. On an long-term space mission, Schwartz's shuttle was attacked by an unidentified alien intelligence, which killed the rest of the crew, but inexplicably left him alive. He was instead transformed by the entity into a being of living circuitry, but as he was being changed, Schwartz turned the ship to crashland in such a way that would theoretically destroy everything aboard. The alien left, thinking it'd be killed, but the partially transformed Schwartz crashed on Earth. Miraculously, he survived, and found that he looked human, but was made of circuits and wires, and could now alter his form into anything he willed, and could merge himself with other technologies. He lived an hermit's life for a time, until Eternon found him and he joined the Quintet. He has become a good friend of Eternon.
Macho
Native of Earth-A. Formerly Daniel Walker. He can increase his size and musculature at will, although he can grow no taller than 30 feet before the growth becomes painful. Raised on the streets, Macho is streetwise and a wiseguy. He basically joined the Quintet for the thrill of adventure.
Solarr
Native of the universe of Earth-A. Formerly Solarias Brinonis. He was a slave, but found an object called the Solar Gem. Using the powers of the gem, which attached to his forehead, he freed his people, and travelled to Earth. The gem taught him English, and he presented himself to the Quintet, who allowed him to join. After he was freed, he developed a whimsical peronality, and is the most light-hearted of the group. The Solar Gem allows him to create solid objects from energy, fire blasts of light, and fly.
Injustice Squadron, The
Super-villain team from Earth-A formed by Anti-Eternon to counter the Quintet. Members are Anti-Eternon (team leader), Emoter, Cybor, Adaptor, Overpower, and others, though those five are the core team.
Anti-Eternon
Native of Earth-A. Anti-Eternon was an unknown petty thug until he was hit by one of the five energy 'fragments' brought down by Dr. James Jenning's experiments. He was granted the same powers as Eternon, but decided to lay low, learning how to use them. Soon after Eternon appeared, he took the name Anti-Eternon, and formed a super-villain team to match the Quintet, called the Injustice Squadron, with Emoter, Cybor, Adaptor, and Overpower.
Emoter
Native of Earth-A. A villain with the power to influence people's state of mind, inducing feelings such as fear, paranoia, blind loyalty, love, etc. A member of the Injustice Squadron, albeit a rebellious one.
Cybor
Native of Earth-A. Criminal who had himself converted into a cyborg to become a super-villain. His original stomping grounds were Metro City in the United States, but he jumped at the opportunity to join the super-villain team known as the Injustice Squadron. He has tough armor, a computer-enhanced brain, and laser weapons and rocket boosters concealed within his arms and back, respectively.
Adaptor
Native of Earth-A. Artificial lifeform that ran amok, developing a malevelolent artificial intelligence. After several independent skirmishes with various heroes, the Adaptor joined the Injustice Squadron. The Adaptor can imitate any superpowers or skills it sees, although the abilities are only an approximation of the real thing.
Overpower
Native of Earth-A. A two-bit criminal until he discovered his latent power- to enhance other superbeings' powers. He can enhance them to make them stronger, but he usually enhances them so that the superbeing can no longer control them. He joined the Injustice Squadron at the bidding of his fellow miscreant Anti-Eternon. He may seem like an ignorant thug, but he is much more clever than he seems.
JEB-A
Variant of JEB on Earth-A. Unlike most JEBs, his reality-altering powers occured naturally, and quickly drove him mad. He is much more powerful than any individual JEB, literally able to change reality to his will. His insanity and arrogance make him vulnerable to trickery, however. He fought a great battle with the Quintet, where he was defeated by having his powers drained by Eternon's weapon, the Absorbatron. He was sent to Basetown's ultimate-security Super-Villain Prison. During a visit from JEB (Prime), Overpower of the Injustice Squadron returned his powers to him, and he sought revenge on the Quintet. With JEB's help, JEB-A was banished to the interdimensional limbo called the Null-Dimension. Unfortunately, this saved Earth-A, but allowed JEB-A to spread his power throughout the multiverse. He began absorbing other JEBs and increasing his power, until a force of the remaining JEBs, with help from several denizens of the Station 8 Main Gargoyles Chat Room, finally defeated him. His powers were removed permanently by the other JEBs, and his memories were wiped by Ricky >I think.< He was returned to Earth-A, and he has returned to a normal life.
