Dina Meyer first came to my attention 2 years ago in the movie
JOHNNY MNEMONIC, which I didn't feel was as bad as everyone says it was. Anyway, she really did a lot for this movie the way that
she brought her character, Jane (the cyber enhanced bodyguard), to life. Then last summer she gave extra life to an already good movie, Dragonheart. In this movie, her second feature film as far as I know, she didn't let herself be intimidated by the special effects, or working with the likes of Sean Connery and Dennis Quaid. Not only did she not let them intimidate her, but I think that she did the best acting out of all of them, which is no small achievement. She followed Dragonheart with a short stint on TV's Friends (the best comedy on TV) playing Kate, Joey's new love interest. Though her scenes were short in these episodes, she, of course, did an excellent acting job, and she had good chemistry with costar Matt LeBlanc This fall she can be seen in the science fiction film Starship Troopers, directed by Paul Verhoven (Robocop). She plays Dizzy Flores in the movie, which could be bad since Dizzy died in the first few pages of the book (good book by the way). Hopefully we will see this wonderful actress in more soon.
Well, I just watched JOHNNY MNEMONIC for the first time since I saw it opening day at the theatres. I still don't believe it is as bad as everyone says it is, but I realized how little Dina was given to do in the movie. Her job consisted mainly of looking good (Which she did an excellent [understatement] job of) and kicking butt. This may have not been much, but she did it with such flair that she still did the most for this movie (though Reeves did a good job during his explosive rant outside of Heaven).

About Sequels
I don't know if any of you out there pay as much attention to movies as I do, but here is some info for you. William Gibson, the author of JOHNNY MNEMONIC is supposably scripting NEUROMANCER, based on his first full novel. I have read the book, it IS a sequel to JOHNNY MNEMONIC. Johnny is not in the sequel, but Jane is (under a different name). Hopefully Dina will be asked to return to the role if this movie goes into development.New STARSHIP TROOPER information
Look for STARSHIP TROOPERS on video soon2-10-98 The movie has been out for for a while now and so has the script, so here is the copy of the script that I was sent. It is divided into 6 parts and all 6 are zipped together.8-22-97 I finally found out Dina's role in this movie. As is well known she is playing Dizzy Flores (who was a male in the book), and from what I have read in the new issue of STARLOG, Dina's sole purpose in the movie is to try to get the main character, Johnny Rico, to sleep with her. Though Dina's role sounds as though it may disappoint her fans, the movie itself (which will more than likely disappoint fans of the book) looks like one hell of a rollercoaster ride. 10-03-97 I was sent the STARSHIP TROOPERS script last week (thanks again). This may or may not be the actualy script, but I read it anyway, and based on pictures and scenes that I have seen, I believe the script to be genuine. I won't post the script or give too much away, but Dina does play an important role in the movie as far as motivating the hero is concerned. Actually, not much to report, but the new issue of Entertainment Weekly (Fall Movie Preview) has an article about this TV show in which Dina Meyers starts opposite David Caruso. The article also include a poor picture of the leads facing each other.

Dina Meyer c/o United Talent Agency 9560 Wilshire Blvd Beverly HIlls, CA. 90212 Autograph Info: I supplied eight stamps with the letter I sent to her. The address is listed bellow. I sent eight stamps because she supplied the picture and the return envelope. She used two stamps to return the picture and kept six of them. It took about three weeks to get the picture from her. But, it was worth the wait. She is not into Science Fiction and does not go to shows to sign. Dina Meyer C/O United Talent Agency 9560 Wilshire Blvd. Beverly Hills, CA.90212 Good Luck, Chris Hamilton

Coming Soon (I hope): Between now and January I hope to add some STARSHIP TROOPERS pics ( I won't have access to a scanner for a few more weeks). I am also about 2 weeks behind on the survey due to an unexpected (but cool) increase in traffic for this site. Thanks for stopping by.
