Peter James' horror novel Host gets the made-for-cable treatment. Bridgette plays beautiful and deceptively innocent Artificial Intelligence researcher Juliet Spring, who wants for two things in her life. One is to aid A.I. Doc Joe Messenger (Peter Gallagher) in discovering a way to download a human mind into a computer. The other is to have happily-married Messenger for her own. When she discovers she has an inoperable brain aneurysm, Juliet is even more determined to achieve success, and wrest Messenger from his loving wife and child...even from beyond the grave. James' gory novel, replete with exploding heads (no kidding), frozen body parts and other fun Herbert West stuff, gets the 'romantic thriller' once-over in this feature, another 3-hour long effort from the director/producer behind the Stephen King adaptations The Stand and The Shining. What is promised is plenty of groovy special effects (oh...great), and - more importantly - a decent starring role for Ms Wilson. And don't we all just love intelligent women? :) Oh, and before I forget, Bridgette's become a redhead for the role. Obviously blondes can't have a PhD or something.
