Brenda is at her cottage house looking at her Christmas tree. There's a
knock on the door. Brenda goes to answer the door.
Brenda: (talking through the door) "Who is it?"
Jason: "It's Jason."
Brenda: (opens the door, and talks with no emotion in her voice) "What do you want?"
Jason: "To see you."
Brenda: "Sonny send you?"
Jason: (shakes his head) "No."
Brenda: (pauses) "Come on in."
Jason: (looks around) "There's more windows. It's different."
Brenda: (nods her head and pauses) "You don't like it?"
Jason: "Well, you can watch the sunrise. Those windows face East. That's nice."
SILENCE
Brenda: (still with no emotion in her voice) "Why are you here? What do you want?"
Jason: "To tell you that I'm sorry."
Brenda just stares at Jason and does not say anything.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Jason: "They---They said you flipped out, and smashed a lot of stuff." (Brenda continues to stare at Jason and not say anything to him) "Huh. Man I just want you to understand that. I've done it. When I left the Quartermaines I tore up a whole room. But at least I
had someplace to go. You know.....I could go away. And they didn't even try to stop me or lock me up. If they had, I'd be....." (Jason pauses) ".....dead. I
would have fallen until they killed me." (pauses) "Or I killed myself." (Brenda
continues to stare at Jason without saying anything). "So anything I've done.........to put you in that place....." (pauses) "I'm sorry. You know, ahhhh, Jax said....." (pauses) ".....that you thought Sonny wanted to kill you. He doesn't. I mean he didn't want any of this to happen."
Brenda: (with no emotion) "What does he want?" (pauses) "Why did he send
you here?"
Jason: "He didn't."
Brenda: "So you've really taken his place. Haven't you? In the
organization?"
Jason: "Yeah."
Brenda: "You think you have everything now?" (Jason looks at Brenda with a confused look on his face) "You don't know." (Brenda shakes her head) "You don't have everything that Sonny had."
Brenda slowly moves towards Jason. She places her fingers on Jason's lips, and his eyes close. Jason removes Brenda's hand. Brenda moves closer to Jason and slowly kisses him. The scene ends.
