Carly confesses to Jason.

Carly confesses everything to Jason

Jason is in the penthouse holding a business meeting. There is shouting outside. Jason goes to see what is wrong. Jason opens the door and it's Carly and she is crying and is all wet from the rain.

Jason: "What are you doing here?"

Carly: (crying) "Oh, Jason. I need you."

Jason: "Carly, I'm busy right now."

Carly: "Jason, please it's really important."

Jason: "What?"

Carly: "I did something that you're really not going to like."

Jason: "Look, I'm in a meeting."

Carly: "If you want me to go, I don't know what is going to happen to me."

Jason: "Will you stop crying? Do you have to be shivering? Now look, just dry yourself off in the upstairs bathroom, while I finish here okay?"(he lets her inside. Carly goes upstairs. Jason finishes up his meeting and his associates leave)

Jason: (calling upstairs to Carly) "Okay." (Carly comes downstairs. Renaldo comes and gives some soup to Jason) "Ah, look you got to go and drink this. This soup is supposed to be good for you." (Carly is still crying. She and Jason go and sit on the couch.)

Jason: "Careful."

Carly: (crying) "Tony says he doesn't love me. He thinks he never did. I guess that doesn't surprise you. I know that you have no use for him. Didn't think I did either.....you know? But he was married to Bobbie. So.....Bobbie Spencer is my biological mother. She gave me up for adoption when she was 16 years old. I don't know who my real father is. She doesn't either. She thinks I'm dead, and some days I wish I was because I don't know who my baby's father is either."

Carly: "And my real name is Caroline Benson. I grew up in Florida, about the only thing about me that wasn't a lie. The people who adopted me.....well my dad ran off with a waitress when I was a little girl. My mom" (pauses) "You know what? I'm not going to do this. I'm not going to blame them. I've got to stop that. They were a little screwed up." (Carly laughs a little) "Who's not. Right? Anyway, I went back down there to take care of her last year after she had a little stroke. And I saw her laying in that bed so.....innocent and sweet. I couldn't remember why I ever hated her so much. Anyway, after I left home I must have used twenty fake names. They all seemed as real to me as Caroline Benson, you know? And then one day, this PI knew everything about me. Knew all my names and he said that he had been hired by my mother, the woman that had given me up. Come to find out, she was living in upstate New York in a house that she owned with her doctor husband, and a little boy, that they had adopted. How the hell can that be Jas? You know she's not crippled or starving or dead and incapable of rasing me. And obviously she wants a baby because.....any baby but me I guess. So I, I really thought the first time I laid eyes on Bobbie she'd know who I was. That she would some how recognize me and get on her knees and beg me to forgive her. Which didn't happen obviously. So I decided I had to find another way to make her sorry. So that's when Tony was supposed to be, til I fell in love with him. Pretty stupid. Huh?"
Jason: "Who else knows?"

Carly: "Luke. Um.....he never lets me forget it. And that's it. Nobody."

Jason: "What about the private detective?"

Carly: "No. Luke hired your boss, Sonny, to run him out of town."

Jason: "What do you need me to do?"

Carly: "It's kind of complicated. But you know how Tony and I were. We fight, we break-up we get back together. Which should have told me something." (pauses) "Um, one night when we were broken up, I slept with somebody else. And, ah.....as it turned out that same night Tony and I made up. I'm pretty sure that's the night the baby was conceived."

Jason: "Carly. By made up, you mean you had sex."

Carly: (nods her head yes) "Yeah."

Jason: "So, the baby's father is Dr. Jones or it could be A.J.?" (Carly looks at him with total disbelief)

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Jason walks over to the bar, and pours a glass of water.

Carly: "What.....what did A.J. say to you?"

Jason: "Nothin."

Carly: "Well. Why did you say his name?"

Jason: "Was there somebody else?"

Carly: "He must have said something."

Jason: "Carly.....you two used my room at Jake's."

Carly: "God, Jas you knew the whole time?"

Jason: "Who else had a key besides me? A.J., and the next day he was hungover and you were lying like crazy about something."

Carly: "And you didn't even say anything."

Jason: (walks back to the couch) "What, like what? When you know people had sex is there a particular comment you're supposed to make?" (hands Carly a glass of water)

Carly: "So I guess....it doesn't bother you? I mean he is your brother."

Jason: "No, but it would have been nice if you had made the bed."

Carly: "Sorry. You know, since we are on the subject of A.J., I drugged him."

Jason: "He didn't want to have sex?"

Carly: (laughs a little) "Shut up. Not that night. Later. The night in your room. He doesn't.....well he didn't remember. He was so drunk. God you know what, this story is sounding more and more disgusting isn't?" (pauses) See when I found out that I was pregnant it was like the answer to all my prayers, if I had said any prayers. I wanted the baby's to be Tony's, of course. And so the fact that A.J. didn't remember was a wonderful beautiful thing. But then he wouldn't let it go."

Jason: "So you drugged him."

Carly: "See, A.J. told me that if he ever slipped again he would check himself into rehab center out of town somewhere and he would not come back. Which sounded like the perfect solution to me."

Jason: (nods his head) "Sure, so you got him drunk?"

Carly: "No!!! He worked too hard to stay sober. I couldn't do that. I realized knocking him out, dumping him in a courtyard and pouring vodka all over him, which is what I did, wasn't exactly the nicest thing in the world to do. But, at least it made me the guilty one and not him. Somehow at the time that seemed to matter."

Jason: "He didn't know the difference, between being drugged and drunk?"

Carly: "No. I guess not at the time, he didn't. But, he figured it out. Actually, I think it was that stupid Keesha, and then he figured it out why I did it. And, and then I had A.J. and Tony both telling me that they are going to take my baby away if its theirs."

Jason: "People get grabby about kids."

Carly: "Yeah. So I told Tony and I guess I'll have to tell A.J. that the baby's not his."

Jason: "That ought to shut them up."

Carly: "I told them that it was yours." (nonchalantly takes a sip of water)

Jason looks at Carly and she smiles.
