Jason & Robin's dance/Jason gets shot

Scene opens with Jason sitting in Robin's living room. Robin walks in.....

Robin: "Iced tea with mint. Two sugars."

Jason: (he gets up from the couch) "Mmmm.....sounds great but could you put mine in the frig awhile? I have to go out."

Robin: "Right now?"

Jason: "Yeah, it'll just be a few minutes. It'll be fast. I'll come right home. We'll celebrate all night."

Robin: (smiles) "Really fast?"

Jason: (smiles) "Really fast." (they kiss)

Robin: (Jason turns to leave) "Jason, wait."

Jason: (he turns to look at her) "What's wrong?"

Robin: "I just got a really bad feeling right now. Wherever you're going, please don't go."

Jason: "What do you mean?"

Robin: "Well, don't you think you should wait?"

Jason: "Wait until what?"

Robin: "Are you....." (pauses, shakes her head) "No, I'm not going to ask that."

Jason: "Look I don't.....I don't want you to feel bad. But there's no reason is there?"

Robin: "Can't someone go with you? I mean Joseph or someone?"

Jason: "I won't be gone long. I'll come back, we'll go right to dinner."

Robin: "Can't we go right now? Look, Sonny knows things, he tells you what's safe and what's not. He's not here to watch over you right now and you don't watch out for yourself."

Jason: (he takes her hand) "Look.....I know you were scared when you called home from school. Ok, and there was no Mac, no Brenda, no Sonny, no me. And I'm sorry that happened."

Robin: "Do you know what I felt? The first thing I felt when my Uncle Mac told me you were in jail?" (pauses) "Relieved. That was all."

Jason: "And you were right. It was nothing." (Robin stares at him) "What?!? I won't be gone long. I promise." (he takes her face in his hands and kisses her) "I'll be right back."

Jason leaves. Robin turns back and shakes her head.....

Robin get a visit from Katherine, who leaves just before Jason comes back.......Robin hears a knock at the door, and thinks it's Katherine.

Robin: "Did you forget something?" (opens the door to see Jason and smiles) "You're back!" (they hug)

Jason: "Yeah, I'm back."

Robin: "It just seemed to take longer than it should."

Jason: "Well I had to stop by my place and drop off something. And to get these." (he pulls a bouquet of flowers from behind his back)

Robin: (smiles, and takes them) "They're beautiful." (she smells them) "Where'd you get these?"

Jason: "Well there's this field about a mile from Jake's. I go there sometimes to think."

Robin: (looks curious) "You don't go to the bridge anymore?"

Jason: "Well.....it hurts to much to be there without you."

Robin: (smiles) "I missed you.....every minute."

Jason: "You remember when you said that it was an ache that didn't go away?" (smiles) "Well, it's gone. But I'm still hurtin'.....I mean how can you hurt from being so happy?"

Robin: (looks at her flowers, and smiles) "It means your heart is too full." (pauses, looks up at him) "I love you. I'm so glad to be home."

Robin & Jason are hugging.....Robin pulls away.....

Robin: "Will you please call the restauraunt while I put these in a vase? The phone number is right by the phone and we're a little late but the owner is a friend, so it's alright."

Jason: "Uh-huh."

Robin leaves the room, but comes right back.....

Robin: (smiles) "Or we could stay here. We've never done that before. I'll cook for you."

Jason: "Yeah, that sounds good. I'll help."

Robin: (looking weird) "Cook?"

Jason: (smiles) "Yeah, cook. I help Sonny cook all the time."

Robin: "Sonny never lets anybody help him cook."

Jason: "Well, I just do what he says. So if you feel like giving orders in the kitchen, I'm used to it."

Robin: "I don't give orders do I?" (they both laugh, then Robin points to the phone) "Call the restauraunt. And I'm gonna put these in some water. Ok?"

Jason: "Ok. Ok."

Robin leaves the room, and Jason goes to call the restauraunt.....camera shows someone outside in the bushes with a gun.....then back to Jason on the phone.

Jason: (to the person on the phone) "Thank you very much."

Robin comes back into the room with the vase of flowers.....

Jason: "Uh.....they gave our table away."

Robin: "So much for Uncle Mac's clout."

Jason: "Yeah."

Robin: (touching the flowers) "Aren't they pretty?"

Jason: "Yeah."

Robin: "Thank you."

Jason: "Sure."

Robin: (smiles) "You're supposed to say 'You're welcome.'"

Jason: "Oh." (Robin grabs his hand, and sits him down on the arm of the couch) "Well that too." (he puts her hands to his lips and kisses them) "Oh man."

Robin: "What?"

Jason: (pulls cell phone out of his pocket) "I'm just not used to carrying this thing. Better not be broken." (he pushes button. it beeps) "Alright. It still works." (puts it down on couch)

Robin: "Is that Sonny's.....are they ok?"

Jason: "Yeah, ah, they're on their way out of town. I gave Sonny a lead on the Tin Man along with a description and the thing about the origami."

Robin: "Did you see Brenda?"

Jason: (shakes his head) "No. "I didn't see either of them. But Sonny says they're alright, so....."

Robin: "She must be going out of her mind. I can't imagine being framed for murder. When you know they're doing it to try and hurt someone you love."

Jason: "Well I think that's why Sonny's running. Look it's not right Robin. He's got no backup, he's not even sure who he's looking for. Ok. He should have let them arraign Brenda. Got her out on bail then proved it was a setup."

Robin: "Well he loves her. He couldn't chance that she'd be hurt."

Jason: "Look, I know, I know. He gave me the whole speech about how things, you know, get personal sometimes. Like with Dorman. I wanted to kill the guy and Sonny said 'No'. He did the thinking for me then. Now it's my turn. Because all Sonny wants is Brenda to be safe. And you know he's not thinking any farther ahead than that. So I have to."

Robin: "And what are you gonna do?"

Jason: "Try and solve it from here. I mean even if Sonny runs into the Tin Man, then what? What, the guy's a pro. He's not gonna confess because Sonny asks him to. And if something happens to the Tin Man, if he somehow dies, that's it. They got nothing. But if we can prove that he framed Brenda....."

Robin: "How are you gonna do that?"

Jason: "I don't know. I don't know." (he gets up and walks around the couch) "Find whoever filled out her dry cleaning order. And see if anyone at the hospital remembers the Tin Man. He was there at least twice. And you know he was at the Cosmopolitan, how else would he have gotten Brenda's hair? And that was before Brenda and Sonny got back together because ever since then we had a 24 hour-a-day guard on their room." (Robin is staring at him) "What?"

Robin: "I just realized. I'm not the only one who's been studying."

Camera shows Tin Man outside the house, watching Robin & Jason.....

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Jason: (walks back towards Robin) "Brenda's your friend. I thought you'd want to know."

Robin: "I do. And I'm glad that you can help her. I've just.....I've never heard you think out loud that way before."

Jason: "What way?"

Robin: "Sort of.....distant. And calculating. You must have learned that while I was away. Like I learned the social political roots of Neo- Romanticism." (pauses) "Except it didn't change me."

Jason: "You think I'm different?"

Robin: "You know more. You've seen more."

Jason: "Yeah, I have."

Robin: "Well, experience is supposed to be the foundation of knowledge." (she smiles) "Why dont' I test you?"

Jason: "On what?"

Robin: "Your imagination."

Jason: (trying to walk away) "No, no, no, no."

Robin: (pushing him back, laughing) "Come on, come on."

Jason: "No, no, thinking about things that aren't real gives me a headache."

Robin: "Come on, maybe they aren't real now, but they'll be real in the future."

Jason: (he sits on the arm of the couch, and Robin puts her fingers on his head) "What are you gonna do?" (Robin touches his eyes) "Oh gosh, what are you gonna do?"

Robin: "Close your eyes." (he smiles, closes them, laughs and opens them again) "Please close your eyes."

Jason: "Ok, alright."

Robin: (she puts her hand over his eyes) "Alright. Can you see anything?"

Jason: "Ummm.....your hand." (Robin moves her hand. Jason laughs)

Robin: (laughing) "This isn't gonna work if you don't close your eyes, ok?"

Jason: (laughing) "Ok."

Robin: "Ok, now.....I want you to imagine....." (Jason laughs) "Seriously, I want you to imagine something. Ten years from now. This is our house, we live here together. And I'm a doctor. Maybe I just....." (Jason laughs again, then Robin laughs) "Stop! Came home from a day at work. And you are cooking me dinner."

Jason: (laughing again) "Oh!"

Robin: "Can you see anything?"

Jason: (nods) "Your hand."

Robin: (moves her hand) "I thought your eyes were closed."

Jason: "They were. But I feel your hand, and that's what pops into my head. Look we can try as much as you want, it's still not gonna work." (pauses) "It's like when I was drawing that map you know? I can't take what I see and make it go flat. See I can't take now and make it someday, ok? All I care about the future is that you're in it. And you're happy."

Robin: "I will be.....if I'm with you."

Jason: (smiles) "Well, I'm not going anywhere." (pauses) "Cause I love you Robin." (she smiles) "And I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

Robin: (smiles, and shakes her head) "Jason, that is the future." (they kiss)

Jason: "Mmmm."

Robin: (laughing, Jason is tickling her.) "Hey...." (they fall onto the couch. camera shows the Tin Man outside the house. he can hear them laughing) "Stop! Hey!"
